Self-portrait

Happy New Year to all!! It has been a long time so I will try to catch up, let’s start…

My contract with Wonenbreburg was finishing at the end of December, so I wanted to go jogging with a camera in my hand for the last time. On the halfway, I saw that interesting and decorative paintings at the window of a house and I stopped and took a picture. At the same time a car stopped in front of me and an old lady inside the car said ‘It’s me!’. At first, I thought that she did paint it only, but when I looked carefully I understood that it was her self – portrait. More interestingly, she took me inside the house and she showed me more of her paintings and even some of her 2 years old grandchildren’s drawings. Normally Turkish people are famous for being very friendly to the foreigners, but I did not expect such hospitality from a Dutch family because I know it is not that common in Europe. From now on, this self –portrait at the window will remind me the Dutch hospitality too…
