I adjusted the lyrics of Sting’s famous song ‘Englishman in New York’ according to this situation. Since the first day I came here I have been seeing lots of Kebap and Döner shops all around. Most of the time food that they are selling is very different from the original ones. I guess the Turkish sellers adjusted them according to their customers’ tastes by adding some sauces. Actually I had a really funny experience about it and I learned about the so-called Turkish food from a Portuguese guy… When I was talking with my flat mate’s boyfriend he said that he liked Shoarma a lot, but I was looking at him with empty eyes because I didn’t have any single idea about what he meant. We don’t have anything like in Turkey… I think Dutch people like Turkish food a lot and they eat Döner like a fast food but this ‘ McDöner’ name is the ultimate level in adjustment!!

very nice comparison I think :)
I also asked one of the Döner sellers about that issue: we do not have that in Turkey :))
They really react according to the taste of the local people there...
